SAP MMSC – Enter Storage Locations
In SAP MMSC is the transaction which you define storage locations for your materials. If you don’t define storage locations for your materials, you can’t transfer them to those locations.
It is advisable to set up a job that scans new materials and define all storage locations for them at the background. This will save you from a lot of labor especially on large systems.
If you don’t have such a setup or you need to make movements immediately, MMSC is the transaction to use.
SAP MMSC transaction doesn’t have too many options.
You need to input material code and plant code.
If you want to see defined storage locations for a material, select the first option and press Enter. This will show you a list of defined storage locations for your material.
If you want to define new storage locations for your material, select the second option and press Enter. This will show you a blank list to fill with storage locations you choose.
Input locations you need for this material and save. Now you will be able to post movements in these storage locations for your material.
