SAP Shortcuts and Productivity Tips

If you need to use SAP for your daily job, you have to know these SAP shortcuts and productivity tips in order to be fast and efficient.

/N – New Transaction in Same Window: You can type /n into transaction area before any transaction to close current one and open another in same window.

For example: While MM01 is open on your screen, If you type /NCS01 in transaction code area, contents in your open window will switch from MM01 to CS01.

/O – New Transaction in New Window: You can type /n into transaction area before any transaction to close current one and open another in a new window.

For example: While MM01 is open on your screen, If you type /OCS01 in transaction code area, contents in your open window will stay the same (as MM01) and a new window will be opened as CS01.

/NEX – Close All Open Screens: You can close all open transaction screens at once by typing /NEX into transaction code area.

sap_run F8 – Run: In most transactions, there is a run button on top left side of the screen, just below the title. You can either click on this button to run the transaction or just hit F8 button.

sap_back-button F3 – Back: You will notice three colored buttons on SAP main menu. The green button is the “back button”. As the name implies, you can use it to return to your previous screen. F3 is the keyboard shortcut for this button.

sap_exit-button Shift+F3 – Exit: Near the green “back button”, there is a yellow button. This button will take you to start screen of SAP when you press it. Shift+F3 is the keyboard shortcut for this button.

sap_cancel-button F12 – Cancel: The last colored button is “cancel button”. It cancels the active job you are working on. Keyboard shortcut for this button is F12.

Crtl+N – Open New Session: Like many other software, Ctrl+N opens a new empty window.

Try to get used to these SAP shortcuts and you will realize how smooth you are becoming while using SAP in no time.
